Our Need for Salvation

The original sin of Adam and Eve passed unto all humanity. There is no action or payment anyone can make to remove the penalty of eternal death caused by this sin nature. Thankfully, God’s love for humanity compelled him to rescue us from our desperate situation. He accomplished this by sending his own Son, Jesus Christ, to assume a mantle of flesh, lead a sinless life and then offer himself as an atoning sacrifice for our sin in our place. This salvation is a free gift to us but it is not automatic; it requires repentance from sin and acceptance of Christ’s payment on our behalf.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
John 3:3  Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Galatians 2:16  Nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified.
John 14:6  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
1 John 5:11-12  And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.
